Q - Why is there a timer in my course?
A - Although most of our courses do not require you to spend a specific amount of
time taking the course, some states require the timer for regulatory purposes. Currently
people taking courses for the following license types are required to spend the
approved credit hours taking the course:
-
Idaho - Real Estate
-
New York - Real Estate,
-
Texas - Mortgage Lending
-
Virginia - Real Estate.

Q - How many times can I take a quiz?
A - You may repeat a quiz as needed. If you do not pass the quiz when you take it,
you can navigate back through the course to read any material you need to. You may
take the quiz again at any time.
*Florida will only allow you to take the final exam two times. If you do not pass
the course is reloaded to your
My McKissock
online courses tab free of charge so that you may take the course again.
Q - Why do the quizzes have different questions if I have to take it again?
A - Each quiz and final exam is drawn from a "bank" of questions. The question bank
is always three times the size of the test. For every question asked, there are
3 questions in the bank. For example, if you have a quiz that contains five (5)
questions, there are a total of fifteen (15) questions in the bank. Each quiz and
exam randomly choses questions from the bank. You may see some repetition of questions,
or questions of a similar nature, but each time you take a quiz or exam it will
contain different questions.

Q - I did not pass my Final exam, how do I retake it?
A - If you have taken a quiz or exam and did not achieve the required passing grade
you can take the quiz or exam again. In order to take the test again you will need
to open your course to the exam page and click continue. Please remember that once
you click continue a new exam will open and you will not be able to review the course
information. Please review the course material before clicking continue.
The State of Florida allows appraisal licensees two opportunities to take a final
exam at one time. If you do not pass the final exam, your course will be automatically
re-loaded on your
My McKissock
online courses tab. You will need to take the course again, including all chapter
quizzes. Retaking your course will give you two more opportunities to pass the final
exam. Please refresh your
My McKissock
online courses tab to see your repeat course. Do not enter the course labelled
failed
as you will not get credit for that course. There is no additional fee to re-load
the course.

Q - Why does my course require a Proctored exam?
A - If you are taking a course for Pre-licensing or Upgrading (Qualifying Education)
you must take a proctored exam to receive proper credit for the course. The Proctored
exam normally consists of fifty (50) multiple choice questions. Thirty (30) hour
courses have 100 multiple choice questions.
Note:
All Illinois Online Courses for Appraisers and Home Inspectors require a proctored
exam for continuing education, and MUST be faxed back to our office at 1-814-723-3016.

Q - Who can be my Proctor, and how do I get the exam?
A - Many people can serve as Proctor for your exam. Examples of acceptable Proctors
include: Public Librarian, Notary, Lawyer, Police Officer, and Teacher. Medical
personnel and religious leaders can also serve as proctors.
Ineligible people to proctor an exam would include family members and co-workers.
Your proctor needs to have access to a fax machine or email. We will fax or email
the exam to your Proctor. You will then have a specified period of time in which
to complete the exam.
Once completed the exam must be mailed in its entirety to our office at:
