- On-Line Courses... State: PA    License: Real Estate Continuing Education Information: Pennsylvania Real Estate Professionals are required to take 14 continuing education hours every 24 months. At the October 16, 2008 meeting, the Commission adopted a mandatory course requirement for recently licensed standard salespersons. The first module (General) is required of any standard salesperson taking continuing education for the first time. That same licensee then has the choice of taking either of the other two modules (Commercial and Residential). Any standard salesperson initially licensed December 1 of an odd-numbered year or later is required to take 14 hours of continuing education from these Commission-developed modules in order to renew his or her license by May 31 of each even-numbered year. Recently licensed salespersons are required to take this continuing education; however, any licensee may take any module(s) for continuing education credit. The continuing education is required for recently licensed standard salespersons for the May 2010 renewal and would be anyone licensed December 1 of an odd year or after. Those are the sales licensees taking PA continuing education for the first time. Those licensed December 1, 2007-sometime in March 2008 would have had to pay the renewal fee for the May 2008 renewal but did not have to take continuing education - that's why they are included in the group who must take it. For the 2012 renewal it will be those salespersons licensed December 1, 2009, or after. A licensee who obtains his or her standard sales license on or after 12/1/09 would automatically be waived from the CE requirement for the 5/31/2010 renewal, though they would be required to pay the renewal fee. This licensee would then be required to take the Commission-developed CE for renewal by 5/13/2012 since that is their first CE requirement. Limitations: There are no online limitations.
