Information:
The Board office will accept trainee licensure applications at this time, but they will not be processed until after July 19th, which is when the new regulation becomes effective. Trainee license applicants will be required to have 75 hours of qualifying education, which includes 30 hours of Basic Appraisal Procedures, 30 hours of Basic Appraisal Principles, and the 15-hour National USPAP (or equivalent). After October 1, 2010, current unlicensed appraisal “assistants” will no longer be permitted to assist certified residential and certified general appraisers in the performance of appraisals. A person will be required to possess a trainee license as of that date. All Qualifying Education Courses listed below require a LIVE PROCTORED FINAL EXAMINATION. COLLEGE EDUCATION IS ALSO REQUIRED FOR CERTIFIED RESIDENTIAL & CERTIFIED GENERAL UPGRADES! PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. CERTIFIED RESIDENTIAL: Must have an Associate Degree or higher. In lieu of the required degree, Twenty-one (21) semester credit hours covering the following subject matter courses: English Composition; Principles of Economics (Micro or Macro); Finance; Algebra, Geometry or higher mathematics; Statistics; Computer Science; and Business or Real Estate Law. CERTIFIED GENERAL: Must have a Bachelors Degree or higher. In lieu of the required degree Thirty (30) semester credit hours covering the following subject matter courses: English Composition; Micro Economics; Macro Economics; Finance; Algebra, Geometry or higher mathematics; Statistics; Computer Science; Business or Real Estate Law; and two (2) elective courses in accounting, geography; agricultural economics, business management, or real estate.
