Matt's background includes a B.S. in chemical engineering from Carnegie Mellon, and he is currently an MBA candidate at Gannon University. He has over a decade of experience as both an appraisal educator and an appraisal software developer. He is the author of our regression and AVM curriculum, and is active as a national consultant on all facets of computer-assisted valuation for the mortgage-lending, appraisal, and related industries.

Susanne has over 18 years experience in the real estate and appraisal industry. She currently holds a Certified Residential Appraisal License in Minnesota where she owns and operates Barkalow Appraisals, Ltd. In addition, she has developed and taught continuing education classes in Minnesota for both appraisers and realtors, and has taught community education classes.

Suzanne is an AQB certified USPAP instructor, holds the IFA Designation and also holds a Masters Degree from Wright State University in Dayton, OH.

Dan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from Clarion University, and has been active in appraising since 1987. He has been instructing and authoring real estate appraisal courses since 1992. He is a state certified general appraiser, holds an SRA designation from the Appraisal Institute, a GAA designation from NAR Appraisal Section, and is on the VA panel and FHA roster.

In 2004, Dan was appointed by Governor Edward G. Rendell to serve on the Pennsylvania State Board of Certified Real Estate Appraisers.

Wally Czekalski has been in real estate for 40 years, specializing in appraisal. He holds a Pennsylvania General Appraiser certificate, a Real Estate Broker's license, an IFAS designation, and is currently on the VA panel and FHA roster of appraisers. His experience includes appraisals and expert witness testimony involving all types of real property.

As President of Czekalski Real Estate, Inc., he supervises a staff of six certified appraisers.

Chuck is a Certified General Appraiser with more than 20 years of real estate finance and appraisal experience. He began his career as a loan officer in 1977, moving on to managing a data service for appraisers and then an appraisal department, and finally, to owning his appraisal firm from 1989 to 2001.

Over the course of his career, he developed an interest in and love of teaching appraisal subjects. He has been an instructor for the Society of Real Estate Appraisers, The Appraisal Institute, Chemekata Community College, Mt. Hood Community College, Portland Community College and a number of private educational providers. Chuck is also an AQB Certified USPAP Instructor.

Chuck currently resides in Lake Oswego, OR.

Ken is a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser and is designated as a member of the NAIFA and NAR Appraisers Section. He earned his Masters Degree in Business Management from Webster University in St. Louis Mo. and has been appraising various types of residential and commercial properties throughout the Midwest for over 20 years.

As a member of the faculty at the Belleville Area Community College, he has taught Real Estate Appraisal courses for 10 years. Currently he is a National Instructor for the NAIFA and serves on their Education Committee. Ken was an active participant in the implementation of the National USPAP course sponsored by the Appraisal Foundation and was a member of the Task Force that formulated the FHA Upgrade Testing requirements.

Mr. Huntoon has been a Real Estate Appraiser for over 20 years with the American Institute of Appraisers and holds the SRA designation. He has over 20 years of experience as an expert witness and has been retained by the Technical Advisory Service for Attorneys, Blue Bell, Pennsylvania.

His teaching experience includes Manor Junior College, LaSalle University and Pennsylvania State University, Ogontz Campus. Mr. Huntoon has also been a Real Estate Broker since 1977.

Andy has more than 20 years experience in high volume residential and commercial appraisal for fair market value realty interests and for assessment purposes. Since April 1989, he has owned and operated Andrew Leirer and Associates Real Estate Appraisal Services. He has been qualified as an expert witness in local, state and federal courts.

Andy has trained several appraisers over the years and has taught numerous pre-license and continuing education classes for appraisers and real estate sales agents. A graduate of Cuyahoga Community College and Cleveland State University, he holds a BA degree in political science. Andy is a decorated U.S. Army veteran having served in the Vietnam War. He is also a licensed real estate sales agent.

Andy and his wife Nancy (a real estate instructor with McKissock) live in Novelty, Ohio, and have two children and three dogs.

Tracy has been a resident of El Paso, Texas since 1965. She attended the University of Texas at El Paso where she studied Business Administration. Ms. Martin served as the Regional Manager and senior analyst for El Paso Appraisal Corporation, a Texas corporation doing business as JDH/EL PASO - Valuation Consultants, a full-service real estate, business machinery and equipment valuation company with offices in Austin, Fredericksburg, Marble Falls, and El Paso, Texas.

Ms. Martin is involved primarily in the valuation of real estate including commercial income properties, industrial properties, and vacant land. She has been active in the Greater El Paso Association of REALTORS where she was the 1992 President of the Commercial Investment Division and a member of the Budget and Finance and the Strategic Planning Committees.

Ms. Martin has also served as an officer and a member of the Board of Directors of the El Paso CCIM Chapter, and has taught real estate courses (core and continuing education) the better part of a decade.

He is an AQB-Certified USPAP Instructor, and enjoys talking to appraisers about the appraisal profession all over the US.

Mr. Alan Simmons, SRPA, is our primary distance education instructor. Alan lives and works in Colorado Springs, CO and has been an appraiser for 29 years. He has a BA in Economics from Union College, holds an SRPA designation and has taught in 40 states.

Alan has authored courses and seminars both for live presentation and online and taught for several appraisal and REALTOR® organizations.

Dale is an Ohio Certified Residential Appraiser with 19 years of real estate appraisal experience. Additionally, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ohio State University in 1972. He has taught pre-licensing appraisal courses for Hondros and Southern Ohio Community College for several years.

Dale has a property investment business in which he owns single family rental units and is active in buying, rehabbing and selling residential properties. Dale currently resides in Ohio where he owns and operates Sungy Appraisal Services, Inc with his wife Mary Beth. Dale is currently pending AQB Certification to teach USPAP.

A State Certified General Appraiser and AQB Certified USPAP instructor, Steve Vehmeier heads the appraisal education program at St. Petersburg College (Florida). In addition, he teaches for national appraisal schools and national appraisal organizations.

Steve has written over 50 appraisal-related courses and has been a subject matter expert for national and state agencies. He has served as a national director and chapter director of multiple national appraisal organizations and is a current or past member/affiliate of seven of the national Appraisal Foundation sponsor organizations.

Steve provides training services for state, national and international lenders. He has served as an appraisal expert witness for the state of Florida. The holder of a degree in education, Steve has authored courses on the psychology of teaching adults. Additionally, he has over 35 years of real estate experience.

John has been active in the appraisal business since 1976. He is a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser in Virginia as well as a Board Approved Real Estate Appraisal Instructor in Virginia. He is an AQB Certified USPAP Instructor and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tennessee.

John is a Member of the ASA Chapter 78 and holds the designation of Accredited Senior Appraiser. During his membership with the ASA he has at one time or another held every chapter office, including his multiple terms as Chapter President.

He presently owns Catawba Valley Appraisal & Consulting Service. John resides in Catawba, Virginia.
