Alabama Licensing Information

Qualify

Every applicant for an initial license as a real estate salesperson shall be at least 19 years old and have, at a minimum, a high school diploma or its equivalent.
Pre-license Education

Once you successfully complete the 60-clock-hour pre-license course you will need to completed a live proctor exam. To pass this exam you will need to obtain a 70% passing score.


Exam

You must pass both the national and state portions of the exam through test vendor Applied Measurement Professionals (AMP) with a grade of at least 70 percent. The Candidate Handbook is a useful resource to guide you through the examination process.
Apply

Submit Application for Temporary License. (Application for a temporary salesperson or original broker license must be made within 90 days of passing the licensing examination.)
Post-licensing Education

Complete a 30-hour post-license training course within the first twelve months of licensure in order to be issued an original (permanent) license.
