What are Minnesota’s real estate CE requirements?

Minnesota real estate licensees must complete 15 hours of approved continuing education per license year (July 1st to June 30th). This must include the 3.75-hour Required Module, which changes annually. All courses must be completed before your license renewal date and be approved by the Minnesota DOC. 

What is the Minnesota Required Module?

The Required Module is a mandatory 3.75-hour course that changes each year. It covers timely and critical topics designated by the Commissioner of Commerce. Our CE packages always include the current Required Module to ensure you meet state mandates. 

How many CE hours do I need each year in Minnesota?

You are required to complete 15 hours of CE each year of your two-year license cycle, for a total of 30 hours. 

Can I take my Minnesota real estate CE courses online?

Yes. The Minnesota Department of Commerce accepts online CE courses, as long as they are provided by a state-approved education provider like McKissock Learning. Our online platform offers a flexible and convenient way to fulfill your real estate continuing education in Minnesota. 

Can I get credit for taking the same course twice?

No. Per Minnesota statute 82.61, you cannot earn credit for the same course more than once during the same two-year licensing period. 

When is the renewal deadline in Minnesota?

The Minnesota real estate CE completion deadline is June 30th each year for both salespersons and brokers. All coursework must be completed by this date for a timely license renewal. 

Does McKissock report my CE completion automatically?

Yes. McKissock Learning will report your completed course hours to the Minnesota Department of Commerce on your behalf, making your renewal process simple and worry-free.
