1. QUALIFY: You must be at least 18 years of age. 
   
   
2. PRE-LICENSE EDUCATION: Successfully complete 60 Hours of real estate instruction approved by the PA Real Estate Commission.
   
   Note: A live, proctored final examination is required for successful completion.
   
   
3. EXAMINATION: Pass both the National and State portions of the Exam through test vendor PSI Examination Services with a grade of at least 70 percent. The Candidate Handbook is a useful resource to guide you through the examination process. You are allowed up to three years from the date you pass the exam to submit a license application to the Commission.
   
   
4. APPLY: Submit a completed application and appropriate fee. Note: As part of the licensure application, Pennsylvania requires the sales agent applicant to be affiliated with a broker. Click here for State Application Information.

Chapter Quizzes:
In Chapter 1, you will be provided with short quizzes at intervals throughout the chapter. These quizzes are geared to emphasize important concepts you will use throughout your real estate career.

For each subsequent chapter, you will be given a quiz at the end. You will have as many opportunities as necessary to pass these end-of-chapter quizzes.

Additionally, the chapter content is available for review at any time after the quiz, so you can revisit the material as needed.

Online Final Examination:
At the end of the course, you will be required to successfully complete a cumulative final examination with a minimum passing score of at least 75%. You have as many opportunities as necessary to successfully pass the end-of-course final examination.

Proctored Final Examination:
The Pennsylvania Real Estate Commission requires that you also successfully complete a live, proctored final examination with a score of at least 75%. You are given a maximum of three attempts to pass the proctored final examination. If you do not pass after the third attempt, you will be required to retake the course. McKissock will provide the course for re-take at NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE!

A proctored exam can be administered by many different sources, as long as the proctor serves the public’s interest and does not pose a conflict of interest. Acceptable proctors include: public librarian, notary public, attorney, police officer, bank official, and teacher. Medical personnel and religious leaders can also serve as proctors.

We anticipate that the average student will take the approved number of hours (60) to complete the course. Because our mastery based platform offers the flexibility to work at your own pace, the time you spend in the course may vary depending on your individual skills. It's important to remember that the flexibility of online courses affords you the opportunity to start and stop as you have time - maximizing your potential learning experience.

Within five days of successfully completing your proctored final examination, we will mail your certificate of completion to you. The Pennsylvania Real Estate Commission requires an original signature on your certificate of completion, so it cannot be faxed or emailed.

Once you receive your certificate of completion, you must contact PSI Examination Services to apply to take the licensing examination. PSI will provide the information needed to register for the licensing examination.
