Montana Licensing Information

Every applicant must be at least 18 years of age and have evidence of completing the tenth grade or higher.

Pre-License Education
Every applicant must successfully complete an approved 60-clock-hour pre-license course.

Every applicant must pass both the national and state portions of the exam through test vendor Applied Measurement Professionals (AMP) with a grade of at least 80 percent on the uniform portion and 70 percent on the state portion within the last 12 months. The Candidate Handbook is a useful resource to guide the applicant through the examination process.
Broker Endorsement
Your broker must have a supervising broker endorsement.

All brokers in Montana must provide their new licensees with a Supervising Broker Agreement that states that he/she has the authority to train and supervise a real estate salesperson.

You must complete and submit the application required by the Montana Board of Realty Regulation.

Post-Licensing Education
For all salespersons with an “interim license”: separate education is due in lieu of the standard regular continuing education.

All new salespeople will receive an interim license that will expire October 31. As required by ARM, 24.210.611, you must complete the New License Mandatory Continuing Education class (commonly referred to as the Rookie Course) and renew your license prior to October 31, or your license will expire and you will be required to reapply for a license and meet current licensing requirements. McKissock does not currently offer the Rookie Course.
