The Appraisal Foundation (TAF): The Foundation sets the Congressionally-authorized standards and qualifications for real estate appraisers and provides voluntary guidance on recognized valuation methods and techniques for all valuation professionals.

Appraisal Standards Board (ASB): As part of The Appraisal Foundation, the ASB sets forth the rules for developing an appraisal and reporting its results through the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).

Appraisal Qualifications Board (AQB): Also a part of TAF, the AQB establishes the qualification criteria (minimum education, experience, and examination requirements) for real property appraisers to obtain a state license or certification.
