Appraisal Continuing Education Course Ratings and Reviews

MCK-US-VA-Appraisal-CE is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 21103.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from As manufactured housing becomes more popular in my service area, I felt that this course was helpful in clarifying some questions or issues that often surface.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This course was very interesting. I have done estate appraisals, and this course was provided extensive detail and clarification regarding this type of appraisal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from VERY WORDY AND I FEEL LIKE THIS INFO CAN BE CONDENSED CONDSIDERABLY. IF I HAD TO READ THE "ADJECTIVES" "SUPERVISORY APPRAISER" AND "TRAINEE APPRAISER" ONE MORE TIME I WAS GOING TO LOSE MY MIND. I THINK WE ALL KNOW BY THE TITLE OF THE COURSE WHAT IS BEING EXPLAINED ,AND BY WHICH, WHO IS BEING ADDRESSED.. THIS MATERIAL IS WAY TO WORDY AND YOU SHOULD GET WAY MORE CREDIT THAN THAT OF 4 HOURS. I FELT THE SAME WAY ABOUT THE "15 HR" USPAP COURSE AS WELL. YOU HAVE TO READ EVERYTHING VERBATIM AND IT TOOK JUST AS LONG AS THE PREVIOUS "30 HR" COURSES. I SHOULD HAVE RECIEVED 30 CREDIT HOURS NOT 15. TALK ABOUT DREDGING THROUGH MATERIAL. MY GOD.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have been using McKissock for continuing education for years. Courses are topical & informative, well organized, and the process is convenient and painless. This will probably be my last renewal as I plan to retire within the next two years, and it has been my pleasure to be associated with McKissock.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Course was well organized, and several FNMA changes that were discussed in the course will be beneficial to me in the future. I was not sure how to take a break during the sessions, without having to start the session over.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A thorough, in-depth look at the do's and don'ts of Bifurcated and Hybrid appraisals. Well organized. Provides some good language for use in these appraisals. I recommend the course.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good course. Well organized. Makes you put on the old thinking cap.
Date published: 2021-08-24
Rated 1 out of 5 by from This course was way too long and took me at least 20 hours to get through. It was super boring and combined basic material, which a working appraiser already knows, with only a few tidbits buried here and there. I found it exhausting and tedious and I am quite cross with McKissock. I would love to see how they timed this 7 hour class. Each of the 4 or 5 chapters has 100 pages! No, this was pure torture with very little reward in terms of learning. It was busy work. Very disappointing offering from McKissock.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The non-residential USPAP course provided me helpful insights beyond the typical residential version, would recommend for general certified appraisers.
Date published: 2021-08-18
Rated 5 out of 5 by from This was an excellent course - I've been appraising manufactured homes for 25+ years and this course gave me more and better information than any of the prior courses I've taken
Date published: 2021-08-11
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good course for beginners and those who have appraised manufacture houses for years.
Date published: 2021-08-01
Rated 4 out of 5 by from This was the first course I have taken online. I did like the freedom of taking the course over a period of several days.
Date published: 2021-07-30
Rated 2 out of 5 by from This is residential appraising 101 and nothing more than a repeat of qualifying education.
Date published: 2021-07-26
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The course is a great course if you decide to get into REO type appraisals.
Date published: 2021-07-25
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Was a very good course but takes longer then you think.
Date published: 2021-07-22
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Extraordinarily fraught with math, grammar, theory and practical methodology errors. Truly an all time low for the worst on-line education provider
Date published: 2021-07-18
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Generally, I have always found McKissock courses good. I prefer in person learning on location to on line and hope that more classes will again be available in that venue.
Date published: 2021-07-17
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very informative and a must take class for any appraiser.
Date published: 2021-07-05
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Information is much, much too general. Should have included much more specific information on costs
Date published: 2021-07-05

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well organized on-line course offered at a reasonable price.
Date published: 2021-06-28
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very helpful as an intro to FHA or a refresher course.
Date published: 2021-06-18
Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a very good course to take for the basics, especially if you never worked in construction. Furthermore, is a good refresher every couple of years as trends change.
Date published: 2021-06-17
Rated 5 out of 5 by from It was very informative and I enjoyed the voice narration throughout the course. It made the material easier to follow.
Date published: 2021-06-14
Rated 2 out of 5 by from I was not pleased with the course. Heavy math (which of course I'm bad at) and real life applicable questions did not seem to come together.
Date published: 2021-05-22
Rated 3 out of 5 by from The course is well written, well organized, easy to navigate, and is presented in a way were the course material stayed on track most of the time with the course topic, thus, made it easy to follow; that is if you are familiar with and understand the concept of the USPAP and its purpose. It is a "little", and just a little, concerning that the course relied heavily on the "USPAP Advisory Opinions" because an appraiser can still be disciplined, reprimanded, and have their license or certification suspended or revoked by relying on an advisory opinion that may be unknowingly misleading to the appraiser and the board decides the advisory opinion is off base. The appraiser is totally responsible for the credibility and correctness of their development and reporting of an appraisal, is totally responsible for it being in compliance with the USPAP, and does not have or cannot use any excuse to the contrary, if found to be so.
