An appraisal report is both the final step and a critical element in the appraisal process, one that can successfully (or unsuccessfully) communicate your findings to a client. In this course your instructor will introduce some of the techniques and procedures associated with writing a proper appraisal report, as well as guide you through the various reporting options available, including narrative-type reports. Foundational requirements for these reports are taken from USPAP and intended users such as Fannie Mae and HUD. This course also features interactive case studies which require you to write parts of two appraisal reports: one on a single-family dwelling, and the other on a three-unit residential income property.

There is a mandatory one-hour proctored exam at the end that must be taken in a monitored setting. A calculator is recommended for this course.

Chapter list:

1. Appraising vs. Reporting
2. Reporting Basics and Options
3. Appraisal Report
4. The Uniform Residential Appraisal Report
5. The Uniform Appraisal Dataset
6. Other Form Reporting Options
7. Narrative Appraisal Reports
8. Disclosure of Scope of Work and Assignment Conditions
9. Single-Family Case Study
10. Case Study - Small Residential Income Property

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The only complaint I have with this course and the prior is that there is no final refresh exam. I like to be able to "study" before the prior exam using that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you really want to learn. If you really want to get your dollars' worth, the choice is clear to me. Other organizations will sit you in a class and allow you to listen to an appraiser/teacher's "war stories". That's been my experience and while easy, I learned little. The Mckissock learning methods do require you to think, study and put in the time. The reward is knowing your stuff. I will only use Mckissock.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would highly recommend McKissock. I have tried some other online courses and most were very cumbersome. This is by far the easiest to use. The software works very well, I did not run into any problems. I am not a fan of online courses, but when forced to use them why not go with the easiest? The information was very good and I learned a lot as well.

Do you have a link of locations where and when the exams are offered ? I'm in the chicago south burbs. Are the exams offered on a Saturday?

Asked by: john richter
Here is a link to the continuing education offerings in Illinois: https://www.mckissock.com/appraisal/continuing-education/illinois/ ; refine the results on the left by choosing “classroom” , this will narrow the results to live classes only. We have some Saturday offerings in the Chicago area; these are in Northbrook and Oakbrook.

Yes, there will be a proctored exam. The length of the exam will depend on the amount of credit hours of the course.
