TheFlorida Legislature enacted Statute Chapter 471 to regulate the practice ofengineering and ensure the health, life, property, and safety of the public.The statute holds the Florida Board of Professional Engineers (FBPE)responsible for reviewing applications, administering exams, licensingqualified applicants, and regulating and enforcing the proper practice ofengineering in the state (FBPE, 2015). The FBPE is committed to deliveringquality service including timely assistance, updated information, and acommunication network to provide quality engineering that meets currentregulations, codes, ordinances, and standards set forth in Statute 471. 

This course will review the most recent legislative changesthat regulate a professional engineer.
