Many people rely on groundwater as their source for drinking water. A water well is the primary object used to access the groundwater. This course explains in detail the different types of wells used to obtain groundwater for drinking water; geothermal and fire protection wells are also discussed. We will cover well site selection, well head protection, types of wells and their construction, pumps, controls, and appurtenances associated with wells. The importance of groundwater yield and quality will also be explored.
