This course focuses on the use of constructed wetlands used to treat wastewater from confined livestock and agricultural operations. It addresses the three most common types of waste treatment wetlands (SF, SSF, and FAP), the treatment processes, the role of vegetation in the treatment, the benefits and concerns of using CW’s, planning and design considerations, as well as procedural, operational, and maintenance requirements.
