Welcome! The field of real estate agency is a fiduciary relationship business that is built upon key factors such as honesty, confidentiality, loyalty, accounting, and especially ethics. Brokers and other licensees who don’t consistently treat their clients and fellow licensees and other third-party professionals with ethical and honest behaviors may have relatively short careers in the real estate profession. An unhappy customer or client can quickly share their negative experiences with you or other licensees around town or online with rather damaging reviews about you and your services.

Do your best to fully disclose any potential conflicts of interest with your clients, and don’t share private, confidential information told to you by your clients that could later financially hurt them or their personal or business reputations. You will learn various ways that clients, licensees, or state or federal agencies can take civil or criminal actions against you if you don’t act in an ethical manner with them. Finally, you will learn about other professions’ ethics practices that share many similarities with the real estate brokerage profession
