The Real Estate Brokerage License Act sets forth the designated broker's responsibility to supervise everyone affiliated with a company in order to protect and promote the interests of its clients with absolute fidelity. This includes supervising affiliated licensees, employees, and employees of affiliated licensees, i.e., EVERYONE. [(32 MRSA § 13179)]
A fundamental aspect of supervision is communication. This includes communication between the designated broker, affiliated licensees, employees, clients and customers, lenders, title companies, inspectors, appraisers – everyone involved in a transaction. Good communication is the path to setting clear expectations, which leads to a well-run company and satisfied clients and customers.
