Current Core Laws in Ohio
Real estate is a highly regulated industry, and Ohio is no different from any other state in providing specific rules and regulations to facilitate fair and ethical transactions. These regulations can be found in two pieces of law: the Ohio Administrative Code (OAC), Chapter 1301:5-1, and the Ohio Revised Code (ORC), Chapter 4735.
In this course, we will take a look at both sections of code. Although we will look at the OAC in its entirety, due to time constraints we will focus on recent changes to the ORC in Chapters 2 and 3. Chapter 1301:5-1 of the OAC contains 20 articles. Each article focuses on the licensure and conduct of real estate professionals in the state. Though the requirements for obtaining a license are certainly important, equally important are the requirements for maintaining a license.
We will walk through the requirements in the order they appear in both codes and explain how they apply to your business. The purpose of this course is to make sure your understanding of these laws is current. As with any other law, it is vital to stay on top of changes so that your business practices remain compliant.
