How to Renew Your Arkansas SR/RA Appraiser Registration
Here’s an overview of the renewal steps for Arkansas State Registered (SR) and Registered Apprentice (RA) Appraisers. This information is based on the minimum requirements set forth by the Arkansas Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board (AALCB).
Step 1: Know Your Renewal Deadlines
If you are a State Registered (SR) or Registered Apprentice (RA) Appraiser in Arkansas, your license (or certificate of registration) will expire annually on December 31.
Step 2: Complete CE Requirements
Arkansas SR and RA appraisers are required to complete 14 hours of Board-approved continuing education every year, including:
- 7-Hour National USPAP Update Course
- Valuation Bias & Fair Housing CE Course
- State-approved CE course electives (if needed to bring to total to 14 hours)
Step 3: Apply for Renewal
You can renew online and then mail the appropriate renewal form to the AALCB. Alternatively, you can mail your renewal form, fee, and course completion certificates together to: AALCB, 900 W Capitol Ave, Suite 400, Little Rock AR 72201.
Please note that you must submit course completion certificates for 14 hours of CE/QE taken within the last year.
Important: Verify all CE requirements with the Arkansas Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board. If you hold appraisal licenses in multiple states, please make sure to check each state’s requirements.
Arkansas SR/RA Registration Renewal (14 hours) – State CE Requirements

State registered appraisers’ certificates of registration will expire on December 31 of each calendar year. The state registered appraiser shall, as a condition for renewal, have completed fourteen (14) hours per year of Board approved continuing education.
Effective 1/1/2026
To comply with the 2026 Criteria appraisers will be required to complete a course that meets the content requirements of the Valuation Bias & Fair Housing Laws and Regulations Outline, every two calendar years.
- The first time an appraiser completes the continuing education requirement for this course, the course length must be seven (7) hours. If an appraiser successfully completed a seven (7) hour (plus 1 hour exam) course as part of their qualifying education, they have met this requirement.
- Every two calendar years thereafter, the course length must be at least four (4) hours.
Please note the 7-hour continuing education version of the course does not meet the 8-hour qualifying education course required for license or upgrade.

How to Renew Your Arkansas Appraiser License or Certification
Here’s an overview of the renewal steps for Arkansas Licensed, Certified Residential, and Certified General Appraisers. This information is based on the minimum requirements set forth by the AALCB.
Step 1: Know Your Renewal Deadlines
If you are a Licensed, Certified Residential, or Certified General Appraiser in Arkansas, your license will expire annually on June 30. However, continuing education is due every 2 years on the even-numbered year.
Please note that you must renew by June 30 of each calendar year to avoid late fees and keep your license active.
Step 2: Complete CE Requirements
Arkansas licensed and certified appraisers are required to complete 28 hours of Board-approved continuing education every 2 years, including:
- 7-Hour National USPAP Update Course
- Valuation Bias & Fair Housing CE Course
- State-approved CE course electives
Step 3: Apply for Renewal
Mail your renewal application form and fee to: AALCB, 900 W Capitol Ave, Suite 400, Little Rock AR 72201. During even-numbered years when continuing education is due, you will also need to submit CE course completion certificates.

Arkansas License or Certification Renewal (28 hours) – State CE Requirements

Arkansas Appraisers are required to take 28 continuing education hours every 24 months including a mandatory 7-hour USPAP Update course.
All non resident licenses are being transitioned to a June 30 annual renewal date with a biennial continuing education cycle requiring 28 hours of CE every even year. During the transition renewal, license terms and fees may be prorated, and some licensees may be required to submit 14 hours of CE to align with the new cycle. These hours may be applied toward the next biennial CE requirement.
