Green Building Concepts for Appraisers – 7-hr
This course will give you an understanding of green residential construction methods as they apply to appraisal assignments. The course focuses on the most relevant principles, methods and products, providing a foundation for your knowledge of green construction and valuation.
Valuation of Residential Green Buildings – 4-hr
Valuation of green residential buildings can be problematic for appraisers. In analyzing and valuing green buildings, the appraiser may have difficulty in obtaining pertinent data, comparable sales and confirmation of how the building performs. Credible appraisals depend substantially on data that may or may not be readily available in the market. This course is designed to apply the appraisal process to green residential buildings.
Valuation of Residential Solar – 3-hr
Solar photovoltaic (PV) systems are becoming more common on residential properties throughout the country. This course will teach you the fundamentals of these systems, their component parts, and how they operate. We will discuss the valuation of owned solar PV systems with special emphasis on the cost and income approaches. We will also address solar PV appraisal requirements and guidelines from the GSEs, HUD, and VA.
Candidacy Application
Designations from a professional organization demonstrate general appraisal knowledge and expertise. Certificates offer concentrated academic achievement for appraisers looking to enhance a specific set of skills or fill a knowledge gap. This certification is similar to specialty accreditation offered in other professions such as real estate, healthcare, human resources, and insurance.
Demonstration of Knowledge Exam
The Demonstration of Knowledge Exam consists of two parts. Part One is a comprehensive exam containing 50 multiple choice questions. Part Two is submission of an acceptable PV Value® report on an example property.
Frameable Certificate
Included with your package is a frameable certificate that you will receive once you have successfully completed the process.
