My course is expiring, how do I get more time?

If your qualifying education course access has expired and you need additional time to complete it, please contact one of our specialists at 800-328-2008 for assistance. Extensions for individual courses, whether purchased separately or as part of a package, are available for at $50 for an additional 30 days. Courses must be completed within 2 years of enrollment and you may purchase as many extensions as you need during the 2-year window. After 2-years, a new course must be purchased. For courses accessed through a Subscription, a Subscription extension is required, available at $499 for an additional three months.

How do I get my certificate?

All of your completion certificates are available 24/7 from within your dashboard.

If you have completed a live class your certificate will be available to you during the business day following the class. Otherwise, it will be available to you immediately upon completion.

To access your certificates:
1- Go to mckissock.com
2- Click LOG IN, located at the top, right of the screen then enter your username and password.
3- At the top of your dashboard, you will see an option for “Certificates”.
4- Your certificates will be grouped by the year you completed the course. Just locate the certificate associated with the course you need and click the course you are looking for. Clicking on the course will take you to your certificate to view and download.

If the certificate you are looking for is not listed, we recommend going back to the “My Courses” tab (top of the screen) and finding the course there. Check to see if it is 100% complete, or if the certificate is locked due to a missing action such as a course survey or additional paperwork.

How do I exchange a previously purchased course for a different one?

We can exchange similar courses for ones with the same number of hours for free.  If you are requesting a course that has more hours than the one you purchased, additional fees may apply. Please contact 877.277.5376  to complete this request.

Clearing cache and cookies and other tips – iPad

Your iPad’s cache is temporary storage space on your device where web pages you recently viewed are held. Your cache allows Safari to quickly load previously visited pages. If you’re having trouble viewing courses, logging into courses or seeing your browser display pages incorrectly, you can try clearing your cache. Here’s how to clear it:

– Exit all instances of Safari you have running ( Note that Safari could be running in the background even after you close it. See the tip on Closing Background Apps below)
– Click on “Settings” (This will vary depending upon how you have your icons set up)
– Click “Safari” in the Settings column on the left side
– Click “Clear Cookies”
– Confirm by clicking “Clear”
– Repeat with “Clear History” and “Clear Cache”

What is a proctor and why do I need one?

To obtain an Appraisal license or upgrade to a higher license level you are required to take and pass a proctored final examination. A proctor is a qualified person that administers an exam and upholds the integrity of the exam-taking process.

1- A qualified proctor is an unbiased person that administers an exam and upholds the integrity of the exam-taking process.
2- Appraisal students in all states except KY, and NY have the option of using our online proctoring partner or finding their own qualified in-person proctor.
3- Students in AR, KY, and NY should read the directions specific to their state outlined in each course.

Who Should Proctor and Where

If a student chooses to find their own qualified in-person proctor, McKissock cannot provide any assistance locating a proctor other than providing examples of qualified proctors.

Examples of people who could serve as qualified in-person proctors include:

– Librarians
– Teachers
– Police officers
– Community volunteers
– Religious leaders
– Someone who works in the public service industry

McKissock would prefer that you take your proctored exam at an educational facility – like a public library, community college, university, or other place where education occurs – although it is not required. These facilities have computer banks, seasoned educators who are familiar with exam taking and provide a quiet atmosphere that is more conducive to exam taking.

Other examples would be post office, attorney’s office, police station, notary’s office, or other suitable location, by a proctor who represents the public interest in this transaction.

Unqualified proctors would be anyone in your family, your supervisor, a co-worker, someone with whom you intend to be employed, or anyone who has a personal stake in whether you pass the exam. Anyone who holds an appraisal license would also be ineligible to proctor exams.

What does the proctor do?

The student is obligated to arrange for the test with a qualified proctor. If audited, you would not want your proctor choice to stand between you and your career. It is not appropriate or advised to take the exam at a private residence. Your proctor must be present and able to view you and your screen for the exam.

Proctor duties include, but are not limited to:

– Check your photo ID before you login to take your exam
– Verify that you did not bring any materials into the exam or have any materials in your possession while taking the exam which includes your cell phone
– Verify that you did not leave the testing site during the exam
– Verify that you were not on your phone or accessing other websites or materials during the exam
– Verify that you did not talk with or have contact with anyone while taking your exam
– Collect any scratch paper or materials that you may have used to work math problems

You can view the proctor requirements on the state requirements pages on our website.
