Delaware Appraisal License Renewal
How to Renew Your Delaware Appraisal License
Here are the basic steps to renew your Delaware appraisal license. The following information is based on the minimum requirements set forth by the Delaware Council on Real Estate Appraisers.
Step 1: Know Your Renewal Deadlines
In Delaware, appraiser licenses expire on October 31 of odd-numbered years. You will receive a renewal notice via email a few months prior. You must renew before the expiration date to keep your license active.
Step 2: Complete CE Requirements
Delaware real estate appraisers must complete 28 hours of state-approved continuing education every 2 years, including:
- 7-Hour National USPAP Update Course
- 2-Hour Delaware Laws and Regulations Course
- Valuation Bias & Fair Housing CE Course
- State-approved CE course electives
Attention new licensees: If you have been licensed for fewer than 6 months, no CE is required to renew. If you have been licensed for at least 6 months but fewer than 12 months, you must complete 14 hours of CE.
Step 3: Apply for Renewal
Apply for renewal using the Delaware Division of Professional Regulation’s online licensing system. To complete the online renewal application, you must log in, answer questions, and use a credit or debit card to pay your renewal fee.
You will be asked to attest that you have completed the required CE courses. A percentage of randomly selected appraisers will be subject to a post-renewal CE audit.
Important: Verify all CE requirements with the Delaware Council on Real Estate Appraisers. If you hold appraisal licenses in multiple states, please check each state’s renewal requirements.
