Here are the general steps to renew your Louisiana appraisal license. The following information is based on the minimum requirements set forth by the Louisiana Real Estate Appraisers Board.
Step 1: Know Your Renewal Deadlines
In Louisiana, real estate appraisers must renew their licenses every 2 years. Licenses expire on December 31 every 2 years from the date of issuance. Check the expiration date printed on your license to confirm.
Step 2: Complete CE Requirements
Louisiana real estate appraisers must complete 28 hours of Board-approved continuing education every 2 years, including:
- 7-Hour National USPAP Update Course
- Valuation Bias & Fair Housing CE Course
- State-approved CE course electives
Step 3: Apply for Renewal
Apply for license renewal using the Louisiana Real Estate Commission’s online licensing portal. You will need to provide proof of CE course completion. Fees may apply.
Important: Verify all CE requirements with the Louisiana Real Estate Appraisers Board. If you hold appraisal licenses in multiple states, please be sure to check each state’s requirements.
