How to Renew Your Minnesota Appraisal License
Here’s a look at the steps to renew your Minnesota appraisal license. The following information is based on the minimum requirements set forth by the Minnesota Department of Commerce.
Step 1: Know Your Renewal Deadlines
Minnesota real estate appraisers must renew their licenses every 2 years. Licenses expire on August 31 every 2 years from the date of issuance. Please check the expiration date printed on your license to confirm.
Step 2: Complete CE Requirements
Minnesota real estate appraisers are required to complete 30 hours of state-approved continuing education every 2 years, including:
- 7-Hour National USPAP Update Course
- Valuation Bias & Fair Housing CE Course
- State-approved CE course electives
Attention new licensees: If you have been licensed for at least 6 months but fewer than 24 months, you must complete 15 hours of continuing education for that renewal cycle.
Step 3: Apply for Renewal
Apply for license renewal using the Minnesota Department of Commerce PULSE online licensing portal. You will need to provide proof of CE course completion. Fees may apply.
Important: Verify all CE requirements with the Minnesota Department of Commerce. If you hold appraisal licenses in multiple states, please be sure to check each state’s requirements.
