Here’s a general overview of the steps to renew your Nebraska appraisal license. The following information is based on the minimum requirements set forth by the Nebraska Real Property Appraisal Board.
Step 1: Know Your Renewal Deadlines
Nebraska real estate appraisers must renew their licenses every 2 years. Licenses expire on December 31 of the designated year. Renewal applications (including proof of CE course completion, if applicable) are due by November 30 of the designated year. Check the expiration date on your license to confirm.
Step 2: Complete CE Requirements
Nebraska real estate appraisers must complete 28 hours of Board-approved continuing education every 2 years, including:
- 7-Hour National USPAP Update Course
- Valuation Bias & Fair Housing CE Course
- Board-approved CE course electives
Please note: The 7-Hour USPAP Update Course must be completed at least once every 2 years from the last time you completed the course.
More detailed information on Nebraska CE requirements and answers to common renewal questions can be found on the Board’s website.
Step 3: Apply for Renewal
You can renew your license online using the Board’s online licensing portal. You will need to provide proof of CE course completion. Fees may apply.
Important: Verify all CE requirements with the Nebraska Real Property Appraisal Board. If you hold appraisal licenses in multiple states, please be sure to check each state’s requirements.
