Nebraska real estate licensees must complete 18 hours of continuing education (CE) every two years to renew an active license, as required by the Nebraska Real Estate Commission (NREC).
Of the 18 required CE hours, at least 6 hours must be designated as “Post-License” or “Designated Subject Matter” courses, which focus on topics such as ethics, agency, fair housing, contracts, and legal compliance. The remaining 12 hours may be from NREC-approved electives.
Yes, online CE courses are accepted in Nebraska, as long as they are provided by NREC-approved education providers. Online learning offers a convenient and state-approved option for meeting CE requirements.
All CE must be completed by November 30 of even-numbered years, prior to the December 31 license renewal deadline. Timely completion is required to renew a Nebraska real estate license without penalty.
