How many CE hours are required for Ohio real estate licensees?

Ohio real estate licensees must complete 30 hours of continuing education (CE) every three years to maintain an active license, as required by the Ohio Division of Real Estate and Professional Licensing.

What CE courses are mandatory in Ohio?

Of the 30 required CE hours, licensees must complete:
– 3 hours of core law
– 3 hours of civil rights/fair housing
– 3 hours of ethics
The remaining 21 hours may be electives chosen from state-approved topics.

Can CE be completed online in Ohio?

Yes, online CE courses are accepted in Ohio, provided they are offered by approved education providers. Online CE is a convenient and fully approved option for meeting the 30-hour requirement.

When is the deadline to complete CE in Ohio?

CE must be completed by the licensee’s birthday every three years, based on the original license issue date. All CE must be reported before submitting a renewal application to the Division of Real Estate.

What topics are approved for CE credit in Ohio?

Approved CE topics in Ohio include real estate law, ethics, contracts, fair housing, agency, financing, environmental issues, and risk management. Courses must be approved by the Ohio Division of Real Estate to qualify for credit.
