South Carolina real estate licensees must complete 10 hours of continuing education (CE) every two years to renew an active license, as required by the South Carolina Real Estate Commission (SCREC).
For most licensees, the 10-hour CE requirement includes:
– 4 hours of core mandatory coursework
– 6 hours of elective courses
Broker-in-charge licensees must complete the 4-hour core course plus a 4-hour BIC-specific course, and 2 elective hours.

Mandatory CE topics in South Carolina include core curriculum updates, covering areas such as ethics, license law, fair housing, agency, contracts, and risk management. Brokers-in-charge must also complete content specific to supervision and office management.
