How to Renew Your Wisconsin Appraisal License
Here are the general steps to renew your Wisconsin real estate appraisal license. The following information is based on the minimum requirements set forth by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS).
Step 1: Know Your Renewal Deadlines
In Wisconsin, real estate appraisal licenses expire every 2 years. Renewal applications are due by December 14 of odd-numbered years.
Step 2: Complete CE Requirements
Real estate appraisers in Wisconsin must complete 28 hours of state-approved continuing education every 2 years, including:
- 7-Hour National USPAP Update Course
- Valuation Bias & Fair Housing CE Course
- State-approved CE course electives
Step 3: Apply for Renewal
You can apply for license renewal using Wisconsin’s online licensing portal. You will need to pay a renewal fee and provide CE course certificates as proof of completion.
Important: Verify all CE requirements with the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services. If you hold appraisal licenses in multiple states, please be sure to check each state’s requirements.
