Alaska Appraisal License Renewal
How to Renew Your Alaska Appraisal License
The steps to renew your Alaska appraisal license are outlined below. The following information is based on the minimum requirements set forth by the Alaska Board of Certified Real Estate Appraisers.
Step 1: Know Your Renewal Deadlines
In the state of Alaska, appraisers must renew their licenses every 2 years. Licenses expire on June 30 of odd-numbered years. Renewal applications will be available no later than May 30, according to the Board’s website.
Step 2: Complete CE Requirements
Alaska real estate appraisers are required to take 28 hours of state-approved continuing education every 2 years, including:
- 7-Hour National USPAP Update Course
- 21 hours of state-approved CE course electives
Attention new licensees: If you have been licensed for at least 185 days but less than 24 months, you must complete 14 hours of CE for that renewal cycle. If you have been licensed for less than 185 days, there are no CE requirements for that renewal.
Step 3: Apply for Renewal
You can apply for license renewal using the Alaska Appraiser Board’s online licensing portal. Please log in and verify that your mailing address is current and correct to ensure you receive all renewal notices and other correspondence from the Board.
To successfully renew your registration or certificate, you will need to pay a fee and submit CE course completion certificates.
Important: Verify all CE requirements with the Alaska Board of Certified Real Estate Appraisers. If you hold appraisal licenses in multiple states, please make sure to check each state’s requirements.
