How to Renew Your Georgia Appraisal License
Here are the general steps to renew your Georgia appraisal license. The following information is based on the minimum requirements set forth by the Georgia Real Estate Appraisers Board (GREAB).
Step 1: Know Your Renewal Deadlines
Georgia appraisers must renew their licenses once a year. Check the renewal due date printed on your license. You can renew up to 120 days prior to the deadline.
Step 2: Complete CE Requirements
In Georgia, real estate appraisers are required to complete 14 hours of Board-approved continuing education every year. This includes the 7-Hour National USPAP Update Course, which must be completed once every 2 years. Note that the 15-hour USPAP course cannot be used as a substitute.
Step 3: Apply for Renewal
Once all CE credits have been posted by your education provider, you can apply for renewal either by mail or online via GREAB’s online licensing portal. You will be required to pay a renewal fee.
Important: Verify all CE requirements with the Georgia Real Estate Appraisers Board. If you hold appraisal licenses in multiple states, please check each state’s requirements.
