West Virginia Appraisal Law

The objective of this course is to increase understanding of West Virginia appraisal laws and rules, and the operation of the West Virginia Real Estate Appraiser Board.  This course is intended to meet the Board’s requirement that West Virginia appraisers must complete a 3-hour course on West Virginia appraisal laws and rules every four (4) years. Content of the course is derived from these State sources: West Virginia Code Chapter 30, Article 38, the Real Estate Appraiser Licensing and Certification Act, and Title 190 Legislative Rules, Series 2, 3, and 4.

Course access is available for 6 months from the day it is opened. All courses, regardless of whether they have been opened, expire two years from the date of purchase. Extensions are available for purchase within 30 days of a course expiring. No extensions will be granted after this period. §190-3-4. Qualifications for Renewal. 4.2. Effective January 1, 2015, licensees applying for renewal shall successfully complete a 3-hour West Virginia law course, with exam, every four (4) years. This shall be in addition to the required 14 hours of continuing education for the renewal cycle.
