The course objective is to identify the perceptions / misconceptions of homeowners on attic – roof ventilation and the things they do which can impact the overall health of the ventilation system. To provide Home Inspectors a general knowledge of Building Science addressing the design requirements for proper attic – roof ventilation, both vented and unvented, and the varying application of venting techniques available that contribute to the principles and characteristics of proper attic ventilation. Finally, inspection conduct is addressed and the safety-first requirements when performing and attic – roof inspection, including post-inspection Health & Safety. Although attic – roof ventilation is only a small part of a required home inspection, it is a very important aspect that contributes to the life of a home.
