This course provides a comprehensive overview of the statutes, rules, and professional standards governing the practice of land surveying in Illinois. Focusing on the Illinois Professional Land Surveyor Act of 1989 (225 ILCS 330/) and the Illinois Administrative Code Sections 1270.56 (Minimum Standards of Practice) and 1270.57 (Standards of Professional Conduct), participants will explore the legal framework, ethical obligations, and technical requirements that define professional practice in the state. Topics include licensure requirements, survey standards, professional conduct, client responsibilities, and public protections. This course is designed to ensure that land surveyors understand and apply Illinois' statutory and regulatory requirements to uphold the integrity of the profession and serve the public interest.
