Here's what you need to renew your Texas Land Surveyors license

Beginning with the 2026 renewal cycle, Professional Land Surveyor license expiration dates are transitioning from annual renewal to a biennial (two year) renewal schedule, with standardized January or July expiration dates. 

  • For your 2026 renewal, the current 2025–2026 continuing education requirements remain in effect. Licensees must complete 12 PDH, including 3 PDH in ethics. 
  • The subsequent renewal period (2029) will require compliance with the new biennial continuing education requirements, consisting of 24 PDH, including 4 PDH in ethics.
