Recent corporate scandals highlight the neednot only for appropriate ethical standards and conduct in business, but alsofor the personal strength and integrity to risk retribution in exposingunethical behavior.  Theinformation presented here is intended to support professional engineers inrecognizing the ethical repercussions of engineering decisions, and theimportance of fulfilling the public’s expectations of ethical performance intheir work.

This course will discuss someof the ethicalresponsibilities required by engineers on a day-to-day basis, and examine: conceptof ethics and characteristics associated with it; therole ethics plays in today's business environment; resultsof ethical missteps for employees, businesses, and consumers; and businessstrategies to prevent and combat unethical behavior in the workplace.
