Here's what you need to renew your Florida Professional Engineers license

The information below is a summary of the minimum requirements set forth by the Florida Board of Professional Engineers. For a more detailed requirements breakdown, please see the board's site.

Online Info

As of March 1, 2015, all Florida Professional Engineers must complete 18 hours of professional development. Of the 18 hours, 1 hour must be in Ethics, 1 hour must be related to Laws and Rules, and a minimum of 4 hours must be related to the licensee’s area of practice. The remaining hours may cover any topic pertinent to engineering.

 

Professional Engineers licensed in Florida must use the NCEES CPC Tracking system to report continuing education courses. Only Florida laws and rules courses will be reported directly by CE providers.

Starting 4/1/2024 - Rosters are sent electronically each business day. We are only reporting the Laws and Regulations Governing Florida Professional Engineers course as required by the board.

It can take up to 24 hrs. to reflect on student's online account after submission.

*If your education is posted after your renewal date, your license status will go to involuntary/active. Once hours have been completed and reported/posted, your license status will be updated to current/active as long as the appropriate fees are paid. Licensees are not able to practice under the involuntary/active status. 

During high volume periods, such as near renewal deadlines, they will be submitted daily.**If you need or want the roster submitted earlier than the scheduled date, there is a $10 rush fee for that service.**
