Introduction to Wind Energy

In this explanatory course, students will learn how to successfully understand wind energy.  This two-hour discussion will cover topics including how to convert wind energy into electricity, the advantages and disadvantages of wind energy, a comparison of horizontal-axis and vertical-axis wind turbines, the basic components of a wind turbine and their role, calculating the basic costs and price of wind energy, an economic analysis of a wind energy system, the environmental impacts of wind energy, how to connect an offshore wind farm to the grid, and more.
