- Engineering and Surveying - an Uncommon Language 2
This course is intended to be of benefit to both surveyors and engineers by removing one of the most common roadblocks to effective collaboration, communication. This class will dissect a design project considering both engineer and surveyor perspectives and discuss specific issues that will arise. Although this class examines a land development project, the subject matter and lessons learned are applicable to any surveyor/engineer interactions.
- Ethical Practice in Engineering and Land Surveying 3
This course explores the ethics of engineering and land surveying. It will explain different aspects of the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) as well as the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) Code of Ethics. Principles, examples, and violations will be discussed. Upon completion of this course, the student will understand the benefits and importance of ethical practice in engineering and land surveying.
- Project Management for the Engineer 4
This course explores the early stages of project planning, the project team, and how the project manager (PM) develops tools to assess achievement and minimize risk. Primary among these planning documents is the project management plan (PMP), a comprehensive encapsulation of project details, covering all phases of the project cycle.
