Michigan licensees are required to complete 30 hours of continuing education every biennial cycle (from initial certification). of the 30 hours, at least 2 hours of continuing education must be earned in an activity that focuses on the area of professional ethics related to engineering. The area of professional ethics related to engineering is not required to focus on areas specific to the rules or statutes.
Licensees will not be required to send in proof of continuing education activities to the Department when renewing a license. However, a licensee must maintain records of continuing education hours earned for 4 consecutive years for audit purposes.
