Continuing Education and Renewal Date: All licenses expire every 2 years from date of issuance.
Effective October 1, 2024, new regulations (Titles 17-314 and 17-315) went into effect regarding Continuing Education completion and submission prior to license renewal.
#1 - CE courses must be completed 30 days prior to your license renewal date to avoid a reinstatement fee.
#2 - CE Providers have up to 14 days from the completion of a course to upload the credit hours into the MREC system.
Hours Required by Maryland Real Estate Commission: 15 hours
All Brokers, Designated Branch Office Managers and Team Leaders are required to complete 15 hours of CE each renewal cycle.
For Licensees licensed prior to 10/1/2023, your continuing education remains the same.
Residential Licensees must take:
13.5 Mandatory hours:
3 hours - Legal and Legislative Update (A)
1.5 hours - Fair Housing (C)
3 hours - Ethics (D)
3 hours - Brokerage Relationships & Disclosures (H)
3 hours - Supervision (I)
1.5 Elective hours
Commercial Licensees must take:
