Missouri Real Estate License: Salesperson

Missouri Salespersons are required to obtain 12 hours of continuing education every 24 months. 9 hours of elective credit and a minimum of 3 hours to be in a Core Topic.

FOR THE 2020-2022 RENEWAL a 3 hour core course in Real Estate Ethics is REQUIRED.


The following subjects will be considered for core approval: Missouri Laws governing the transfer of real property, Representation Options in the State of Missouri, Broker Supervision and Escrow Account Management, Fair Housing, Property Management, Commercial Brokerage, Agency and Brokerage Relationships. McKissock courses approved for mandatory credit are listed first and marked with an M.


Due to COVID-19:
For Missouri, brokers with renewals and CE education will be extended from June 30, 2020 until August 31, 2020. CE course hours for brokers completed after June 30, 2020 and before the license is renewed, cannot also be used for 2022 renewal.
Salespersons with renewals and CE education will be extended from September 30, 2020 until October 31, 2020. CE course hours for salespersons completed after September 30, 2020 and before the license is renewed cannot also be used for 2022 renewal.
One core course in real estate ethics is still a requirement for brokers and salespersons.
For applicants completing the 48-Hour Missouri Salesperson Pre-Examination Course & 48-Hour Missouri Broker Pre-Examination Course after March 1, 2020, they will be granted a sixty-day extension beyond the certificate expiration date to complete all phases of the application process.
For non-resident with an active license in another state and who has completed the 24-Hour Missouri Real Estate Practice Course after March 1, 2020, they will be granted a sixty-day extension beyond the certificate expiration date to complete all phases of the application process.

Online Limitations

There is no regulation on how many hours a student can complete in one day for the state of Missouri. 

The state will allow for only TWO attempts on the final exam before requiring the course be retaken.
