NY Residential Elective RE-2: Environmental Issues

This course addresses environmental issues that are relevant to the appraisal of residential real property.

These issues include contemporary issues such as air and water pollution, indoor air quality, wells and septic systems, solar photovoltaic systems, and termites. There are also separate sections on specific environmental issues such as asbestos, lead, radon, PCBs, underground storage tanks, wetlands, and hazardous waste sites.  

We will also explore governmental agencies and laws; federal, state, and local. There will be sections on the EPA, the Superfund Act, and the NY State Department of Environmental Conservation. We will address environmental assessment reports, appraiser responsibilities, and lender liabilities. 

Course access is available for 6 months from the day it is opened. All courses, regardless of whether they have been opened, expire two years from the date of purchase. Extensions are available for purchase within 30 days of a course expiring. No extensions will be granted after this period.
